gx660

does anyone know the cheapest place to get a gx660? is it possible to get it under £900? i've saved up 713 sofar...another month and i'll have 900+ just wondering if there's anywhere I can get it cheaper, or maybe an alternative laptop that has a similar gpu? (speed wise)
or do all the cool ones cost 800-1000?

In a month its anyones guess... the 680s are out now and I think the 780s are coming out in june so the 680 prices will likely drop as more sandybridge models become available.

 

i hate the uk, all the decent laptops are over priced and the us ones are cheaper, but shipping takes ages and then you get the customs fees last time i bought from the us i had to fix the laptop myself...

is getting a laptop really worth it? i'm trying to decide that, but keep hearing a voice saying "mobile gaming"....I almost one a kick a*s laptop on ebay a few minutes ago but got outbid by £200 in the last seconds.

they have deal of the week, or this week only prices on laptops at certain times, i got my 660r for £918 and it was £1100 a week later, just check the site each day and then dive in quick

i got mine for £894 from the tech depot.
but its true us brits get screwed over price wise because most of the time its
"this laptop cost $1000 lets not convert the price to uk currency lets just switch the sig £1000"

does anyone how long uk customs takes to clear packages? my new laptop has been there since the 3rd and i checked this morning and the info hasn't changed yet.

It arrived very quickly in the uk, only dispatched 1/04/11, just wondering how long it's going to sit in some customs building doing bgr'all? really excited about getting my first "decent" laptop!

I looked it up and can get the 660r i5 460, 8gb ram, 2x500gb hdd's, 1gb ati 5870 usual windows etc for £1104.66 delivered all within the uk.

 

I couldn't find one that cheap, I was going to get the 6gb version for £923 but then it went up...

yea i bought the GX640 from the USA, it's sitting at some parcelforce depot awaiting customs clearance.

i got it early this afternoon, after 4 callls to pf and some questions , it arrived 20 mins from putting the phone down and i'm typing from it now.
really nice machine, i've already popped in the new cpu and replaced the thermal goo. just setting up all my software etc. wooo!
