    msi gt627 & gx640 wont turn on

    I swapped the case on my gx640. Now it wont turn on.
    I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly.

    I then swapped my gt627 motherboard into a gx630 case. It wont turn on either!

    What am I doing wrong?

    Found the culprit...

    These horrible ribbon cable connectors! The cable seems plugged in perfectly even when in between the brown and beige parts, of course that makes it completely nonfunctional. The cable has to be under the brown part:

    These connect the touch panel & power button board on my MSIs as well as the touchpad.
    Hope this is of help to anyone taking apart their laptops in the future :)
