You have the same MSI as mine. Are you able to confirm that this issue has been resolved for you now? Or did you go back to Windows 8.1? Perhaps I should send this to you in a PM but, if anyone else can help me then it is appreciated.
http://eu.msi.com/support/nb/GT70-2QD-Dominator.html#down-bios doesn't hint at Windows 10 support yet so I still haven't upgraded.

It's ideal that you can get drivers from the OEM, but lack of official support doesn't necessarily mean that you will have problem after problem. Whenever you do upgrade, I recommend having a backup image to fall back on - and keep in mind that Windows 10 is said to eventually become a "recommended update," so you may want to turn off automatic updates to prevent it from downloading automatically in the future, if you haven't already. -
I have the GS60 Ghost Pro Gen 4 which is not supported with Win 10 drivers on MSI's website and was able to update without a problem.
I did the following:
1: Download drivers for the 5th Gen Ghost Pro for chipset etc
2: Download from the OEM websites:
- Killer suite
- Killer Bluetooth
- Nvidia
- Intel Graphics
- Steel Series
After installing Windows 10 and activating, create installation media with the correct version.
Clean install Windows 10. Skip the licence as it will authenticate when connected.
Once Windows 10 is installed, DO NOT connect to wifi.
Install all drivers in MSI's specific order and re-start between each one.
Once all are installed, enable Wifi to get the latest updates from Microsoft.
Everything should be running smoothly after this! -
As for your second issue, I have the 970m version of the GT60 (Factory Stock, not upgraded) and I'm having the same problem with the GPU. It likes to switch back and forth. It has to do with the Windows GUI, mean, the login, the action center, the battery status, and the wallpaper changer. There's probably more because sometimes it seems completely random. I believe it's a bug in the Nvidia graphics driver. I've reported it as have others, but it's not yet been fixed.
Some have suggested using older drivers that worked for them, but they don't seem to work on MSI's for some reason. The light stays a constant orange and the Nvidia gpu just doesn't work. I suggest that anyone who has this problem should report it to Nvidia. There's a thread over on the Nvidia mobile graphics card forum if anyone is interested. If anyone has found a solution, please tell us about it! -
- Yeah, I don't have my updates on automatically. Although I would sacrifice that privilege when I finally do update to Windows 10 Home.
Thanks for the info. It must be a Nvidia mobile driver fault as you say. I have bookmarked that thread you mention (and are involved in I see) and will delay my Windows upgrade until those forum members get a fix. -

Not everyone experience the same issue because there are several factors available.
Best to update BIOS & EC to the latest version, and then drivers for the right operating system then you are good.
