The new 802.11n products are going to render obsolete all the "g" products currently installed in our notebooks -- it's that much faster.
So can these "g" internal cards be upgraded?
-
It will still work with your g card if the router is compatible with n/a/g...im not sure as of now
But if not, you need to get a new N card...i doubt it because they will have it compatible, you just wont see those speeds of N with a G card -
N will make g obsolete in the same way that 802.11b became obsolete when g came out. You can also upgrade your g card to n in the same way everyone upgraded thier b cards to g.
Oh, wait...neither of those actually happened.... -
My question is can the *internal* wireless function of "g" computers be upgraded to "n"
-
Yes, you need to get a new internal wireless card though
-
it's all moot anyway unless you're xfering a ton of data across a LAN since the bottleneck for internect connectivity is your dsl/cable/dialup speed which is way less then even "b" speed. -
Now wireless gaming, that would love n technology.
