I have a modem which is also a router the model is: Lynx L-210
In addition I have -in the box/not used- a non wireless router with 4 LAN D-Link model: EBR-2310
Dont want to buya switcher/hub to help me to connect my first PC and my next /second/future PC (well .yes I would like to use what I have if it is possible).
The hypothetical question: Can I make the D-Link router to work like a switch not like a firewall? Will the speed get down?
The problem: Don't know how to do it...if it possible
Also, cant connect the D-Link router the D-Link installation CD want to disconnect the older router (means disable the firewall from the combo modem+router...not acceptable).
It is possible to disable the D-Link firewall and to use the D-Link like a switch?
Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

Login on Dlink Router disable DHCP server and plug your modem into 1 of 4 LAN port. Do not use WAN port. Should work.

Try to understand how to do it(step by step).

And assign a static IP address to the D-Link router, the IP address must be out of the DHCP range of the first router.

Hi guys,
Because is too late, I will tell you the short story:there are something different but was exactly how "misticwarrior" write to me.
The difference is: need to plug the cable from combo modem/router into the next routers WAN.
Forget the IP config...in my case it's bloking the router if i try to change it.
Thanks for your help and your time. -
This is the correct way to do it if you insist on using D-Link. I can't tell you step by step, but I can tell you in general. Since both devices are acting as router, and you can't have two router on the same network.
You have to make Lynx as bridge mode. Now you use your D-Link for your PPoE on your DSL. D-Link will act as a switch, DHCP, and firewall for you. Whatever you connect to your D-Link, it will communicate with each other. For example, file sharing or remote desktop. You Lynx modem will do nothing except acting like a dummy bridge between your ISP and your network. You have to plug DSL modem into D-Link WAN port, and you use all LAN port as a switch.
Don't forget that your CANNOT have 2 routers on the same network.
ADSL non-wireless router (4LAN) can work like an ethernet switch?
