If you have AT&T DSL service and have not gotten an email notice yet, its on its way,Got mine today,There is now a 150Gb limit per month of service, personal usage, read faq's,,you can see your usage from a link provided,, Mine was 13Gb for one month,,they said they imposed this as a few have over done there download/uploads, thus congesting internet traffic, they will provide notices ect for overuse,,if it corntinues a $10 charge per 50Gb is tacked on the bill,,,almost all users wont be effected, they also redefined abusive language, so there tech supporters, ect wont get bothered and thus can help persons faster and other details...They gave examples like 3000 pictures and 13 streamed videos can get close to 150Gb limit,,watch your usage...lol.

    Cheers

If I had there service I would have good reason to get out of any contract and go elsewhere. The statement that only a few people go over 150gig is hog wash. They are banking on the fact that many people already go over the 150gig and this is easy money because most people are unaware of there rights under the law.

Seems as though most/all of the home broadband suppliers are moving to place limits on unlimited plans.

Comcast and TW have had an unpublicized but frequently enforced limit of approx 250Gb a month for the past year or so.

Limits, yes... but AT&T is enforcing them differently. They're charging for overages. Most cable ISP's have had limits for QUITE some time, but they only throttle users that pass their limits.

For instance... My plan at home is 8Mbps down and 1Mbps up. I have a daily limit of 30-40GB. If I cross that then I get bumped down to the lowest service tier until my cap is reset at midnight. From midnight till 9AM my service is unmetered since it's not peak usage time.

Comcast and TW both charge for overages as a backup to their cut-off threats.

Nationally, ATT looks to be getting out of all of their fixed-line businesses. They recently started chasing off their old att.net email customers with pricing changes.
