I do not broadcast my SSID, but obviously my neighbor does and its encrypted. My laptop ALWAYS wants to connect to his network first. :( is there a way to make my laptop ONLY connect to my SSID which is not being broadcast?

go in the connection manager, there is a thing that says "click to select prefered networks" click that. delete all network bsides yours from the lists
this is assuming that you are using windows to control your connection. Sorry I don't have my laptop near my so I can't tell you exactly where to go.

Also, there's a checkbox in your advanced wireless settings that says something like 'Automatically connect to non-preferred networks' or something like that. Clear that, then clear the box that ZJ reffered to above of any unwanted SSIDs.
