Hi guys for my future laptop I've plan to upgrade the wireless card to either the Intel 6230, or Bigfoot Killer 1102. I'm slightly leaning towards the bigfoot card because I've heard that its slightly better than the Intel. My question for owners of these Killer cards is that, how is the software that comes with it? I've heard mixed reviews about it. While the software provides the ability to customize/optimize your connection, I've read somewhere that the it is actually not that great.
Can anyone comment on this?
(sorry if this is in the wrong section)

I upgraded my dell 1520 half mini card to the bigfoot killer 1102 just recently. It is indeed a lot better than my old card, but I still can't use the full potential of the card because my router is crap. Now for the software, a bunch of bs if you ask me. I noticed no difference in changing the priority setting in the killer manager. Whether I put some things to either low or high, it made no difference to my bandwidth allocation. I got this advice from a NBR member (saturnotaku) to install the generic atheros drivers and I was able to avoid using the killer software. A lot happier with that software gone.

Bigfoot is definitely worth it, I am using killer 1103.

I myself dont use the software, I just installed the drivers. -
The review mentioned above is worthless. It's nothing more than product endorsement.

It sucks, plain and simple. It's bloated, buggy, and crash-prone, and Bigfoot doesn't seem too concerned about fixing it. Two of the more significant bugs are no ability to access the iTunes store and some sort of problem with launching and connecting to World of Warcraft. Bigfoot released a driver that allegedly fixed those problem, but promptly pulled it off their site for reasons unknown.
I've been using generic drivers provided by Atheros, who essentially makes the hardware the Bigfoot uses. I've noticed absolutely no difference in performance between these drivers and Bigfoot's, but the stability is 100% better. No crashes, no dropped connections, no memory leaks.
As it sits, I'll continue to use my Bigfoot because it works absolutely flawlessly with the reference drivers. If I had to do it all over again, I would have stuck with Intel. -
>.> Sounds terrible. I guess I'll stick to Intel's 6230 then (cant go 6300 because router does not support 450Mbps). Lack of software means less problems. I won't need bluetooth, but it doesn't hurt to have. Can you choose to turn off the bluetooth?

I haven't really had any problems with the Killer software, but I wouldn't say it's particularly good, either.

Both Intel 1030 and 6230 do have throughput issues because of Bluetooth module in them so it will possibly hurt you after all.
Go with an ordinary 6200 is you don't need BT. -
Another point to the Intel cards is that the Killer card doesn't support WiDi. Personally it's not something I'm interested in, but it might be a selling point to others.
