guys i was hoping for some advice
i got meself a used airport express and have tied my Samsung SCX4623F into it, problem is bonjour recognises the printer, and installs it into my house win laptops (win7 32 and X64)
however when a request is sent...the printer seems to receive and prepare for printing (it hums and everything) and then ..nothing.... if i use the MBP 13"...no worries...just works.... but i would like the system to work through all the laptops in the house
I have searched the internet
there was some advice regarding .....naming the port as the IP of the A.Express= it hums and everything..but no actual printing
installing LPR= printer doesnt even seem to recieve a request and i get an error in printing from windows
changed ports= apart from the default port...everything else leads upto an error
Now is there any advice into making the Airport Express work with the Samsung SCX4623F and Win7 32+64 bit laptops

Is the Apple Extreme Firmware up to date?

Sounds like it's not get a EOF, LF or CR at the end of the print request. I ran in to something like this similar many years ago. See if you can send a blank page at the end and see if it prints. Or send a CR.

I am sorry could u explain that?
I can't seem to print anything from a windows rig (32/64) it receives the request alright but no printing and no paper output -

Since you have an apple computer that works, do a test. Send a print job with the pc then follow up with one from the apple and see if the previous pc print job comes out.

The Mac prints with no issues, however the PC will not print to the printer,I tried as u asked, the printer hums, the LEDs flash but no printing paper

Running out of ideas?
If you bring up the print que on the pc, does it show the job? If so what state is it in?
Do you have a personal firewall running on the PC's? May disable it for testing.
I use network (HP) printers, static IP's. I don't have the Extreme base to test against though. Never had a problem with mixed pc's and mac's. -
print queue on PC shows up correctly and no errors- but no printing.
i have static ip's in my network...both the AOD 150, and the AW M17 are not printing...and the DV5...i havent tried printing from it..yet
i replaced the local.apple thingy to the static ip of the express...since it was bridged to the extreme, i even tried putting the extreme's IP..but that generated a fault
any more ideas? -

So your using 2 router? in bridge ?
If you need the use of 2 routers, set the Extreme up as a AP, Static IP, then turn off DHCP on the Extreme. Your main router still set for DHCP will issues IP's for the extreme base. Connect lan to lan.
Have you tried setting up your network with the Extreme Base as the only main router? Use DHCP on all pc's, staticIP for the printer or reserved IP if the Extreme supports it. -
My network is on static IP..so the airport extreme (which us bridged to my modem) sends out a 2.4+5.2 ghz signal, which is then relayed by the express (static ip) which has the printer connected. I cannot replace the function of the extreme as it is providing wired Ethernet to my tv, media player and NAS in the media cabinet.

Sorry about this...I fixed the issue a couple of weeks ago..mods can close this thread

I am having the same problem. How did you fix it if you don't mind sharing. Thanks!

Well then
It includes having to install the printer drivers in the computer you are aiming to connect to the airport express
Then installing bonjour and having the printer connected to that express /extreme
Then selecting the printer, using the drivers installed, most often than not the bonjour recognizes a close relative of the series of printer you are trying to install and this is where installing the drivers will help
Making sure that the airport express is on a fixed IP
Once it's all connected then go into the printer properties there make sure to put the airport express/extremes IP
* I'll post the pictures of the settings page later -
I have a imac g4 as my home base and print server, (use bonjour as the software) All my macs printed to the iMac to print via a hp printer or epson! but the pc's would all have issues! Make sure bonjour is installed on ALL pc's. also even though most windows machines will have the printing software there for them, but, I found that I had to go back and install the print drivers also. and then I didn't have problems, (when installing the software you may have to start up by having the systems connected to the printer first, then you should be able to do it by the bonjour software) I have 2 mac laptops 2 acer laptops and 2 toshiba laptops, and 2 HP desktops all use the bonjour print software to one printer! Just make sure that all systems have print sharing on even if the printer is not conected, shouldn't matter but for some reason that also help solve the issues! Hope this helps others!
