As the title states I know CAT5 only uses two pairs of wire to transmit and receive. Just havent been able to find out which pins are used for transmit and which for receive. Anyone can help me out?

IIRC, 100Mbps uses a 2 pair, while gigabit uses 4 pair.
Though more specifically 1000BASE-T uses 4 pair, 1000BASE-TX uses 2 pair, but requires Cat-6.
It's very unlikely you have the TX variant. -
