    Cant visit specific websites over LAN on specific device, but Wifi works fine?

    I have a new Laptop. Has a CLEAN install of Windows and factory drivers.

    Not sure if it is something with this laptop, or something else.

    I keep getting ERR_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT with certain websites while on my LAN connection - specifically, Craigslist, Chase, and a few others. I would think it a router issue, but my other devices are perfectly fine when plugged into the same line. This is a perfectly clean install of Windows. It also isn't a Chrome issue, because the sites are timing out in IE and Edge, too.

    Works fine over WIFI. Any ideas?

    The hosts file is clean. The IPv4 settings are identical between the 2 devices. I've also completely RESET the router to factory defaults.

    Its almost like I'm hitting a proxy or something even though it isn't. If I run a VPN like windscribe, I can get to all of the problematic sites just fine...

    Open to ideas on this one.
    Also tried Google's DNS Servers. No go.

    I can run a ping and a trace to craigslist, and they both come back fine. I cannot however get the site to load in any browser on the PC.

    No, Not yet. Would you think this an ISP issue? I am able to visit the website from the same ISP over my WIFI connection.

    One of the Blocked websites is Netgear. I also posted this at Netgear in case the C3700-100NAS is the issue.

    It's could be a malware interference blocking access to sites that you'd need to recover from infection. Blocking Netgear is suspicious...

    I've also heard this for DNS issues - bad binding to a DNS server - try setting Google DNS manually 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - there are other open DNS servers, there are apps to help you find the closest - fastest response, but do that later :)

    Try finding the IP address of the blocked sites, and try pinging the IP address, and tracert to see where the last hop is... probably your interface, but it could also be either side of your router or the ISP, it's been many years since I've seen it be an ISP, but it can happen.

    Try booting on a Linux USB / DVD / CD and use a browser from it - to cut out the Windows install completely... then if it works reinstall Windows.

    Have you tried malwarebytes or Norton or other online malware tests?
