D-Link 825 problem

So I got this router not too long ago and it's been working flawlessly until recently. For some odd reason, it'll disconnect my wireless laptop and then reconnect... OFTEN! If it did it every hour or so, I wouldn't care, but it's getting to point where it does it every 10-15 seconds sometimes. I'm not very experienced with routers so I don't know what to do outside the usual (unplugging it ). Some help would be appreciated.

 

Also, I noticed that it happens most often when I'm accessing my other computer remotely. The other computer is connected via ethernet and the main is communicating through N.

 

Do you or perhaps a very close next door neighbor have 2.4 GHz (or 5 GHz if you are operating on a 802.11a network) cordless phones recently installed? If you (or a very close living next=door neighbor) do(es), I may be suspecting that the D-Link router may be attempting to find a suitable channel for communication and your phone seems to be interfering with that process.

 

It could also be caused by there being a lot of other nearby wireless networks causing congestion in the affected spectrum - have you checked to see if your system is finding a lot of other available networks? Also, make sure that you've got your notebook set to use the NIC adapter at 100% power (a power-saving feature allows this to be dropped below 100%). Finally, make sure that your router is handing out IP addresses with long lease times under DHCP.
