Hello...
I just purchased a D-Link DWA-142 USB adapter.
My CD-ROM can't read the installation program from the CD. It is able to read the instruction manual from the CD. It can read other CDs. The manual another PC card on the computer might interfere with the adapter. I do have another wired network card installed on my computer. It suggests disabling the current card and uninstalling the drivers. I do not think either would solve the problem, but I did disable the current card. I would rather not remove the drivers unless it is a last resort. The CD works on another computer.
The D-Link site has version 1.1 of the drivers. The site says there will be improved performance with 1.1. Is that true? Could I possible just install the 1.1 driver or is there something else that needs to be done to install the adapter?

no leave your ethernet card alone. it can stay. just download the drivers from their website. it should work great. just make sure to install the drivers then plug in the device.
