Hi,
I just bought a Dell Studio 15 laptop, I just won't connect to the NetGear WGT624 V3 in wireless. The signal strengh is very good but when I try to connect is doesn't work at all. But I have 1 Laptop, 1 desktop, 1 wii connecte wireless and 1 PS3 wired. Everything working fine. I tried the studio 15 on a Linksys N router and Dlink G router ... and evrything working fine.
Any ideas ? and by the way I also tried with no security and it doesn't work either.
Thank You

Take note of the settings of your working laptop's wireless adapter and mimic them into your new laptop.

Ask Dell for an Intel Wireless card, that's what I did and it's working marvelously for me. If you already have an Intel card check your router settings and make sure it's broadcasting the correct a/b/g/n that you need for your laptop to connect. It worked for me with my D-Link after I changed it to broadcasting g only it connected better. Although I think the Intel thing is the best way to go.

Wirelessman : One laptop is under XP and the new one under vista so it is hard to achieve exact same config but, it is still very close for what I can say.
Phaaam : I will try, but when I build the Studio 15, there is no option to get the intel one ( I would If I could ... ) But I'll try to ask dell anyway. The first time I called them they send me the exact same Dell Wireless card because they though the original was broken but now the second one does the same I'll see what they say about that. -
Have you tried to update the wireless card driver directly from the vendor web site?

I tried with the dell driver ( it is Broadcom card but I do not know the broadcom model perhaps...)

You should be able to see it on the hardware window, or download Everest home edition and it will tell you what peripherals you computer has.

The Studio 15 is going to have the Dell Broadcom card only.

Thank for you help guys,
It is working now.
I change the card settings so it always connect to the maximum speed and so far it seems to works great. Don't know why ... but I take it anyway

Great, maximum speed and maximum transmit power should be a default setup.
Dell Studio 15 and WGT624 won't wirelessly connect
