for the past months I've been having a problem in two different houses...my internet will disconnect randomly...most of the time it will work...but then all of a sudden it will then just disconnect and not work...but then when I go unplug the power of the router and then plug in back in...it will work again...most of the times it does I think....so I was thinking is it my router's problem??

and when I call my internet provider they told me that when the disconnection happens again...I should connect one of my computer to the modem and try to seem if it works without the router....and one time I tried, it did work...but I was thinking...everytime the resolution seems to be unpluging and repluging the power...

soo what exactly is the problem here...the router or my internet itself...

    can someone please help me...

i think its with your ISP. it seems that their system refreshes/reboots frequently and it will indeed affect your router that's why you need to reboot your router as well

I personally believe it's the router...you should look for the latest firmware from the manufacturer's website and update it...If that doesn't fix it then it might be time for a new router. What brand/model router is it?

To know for sure where the problem lies, the more obvious thing to do IMO is to leave the computer plugged in directly to the ISPs modem to see if it disconnects...If not then most likely it's not a problem w/ the ISP and instead it's most likely your router acting up.

Your problem is the router; Belkins are just not good routers, particularly once you've had them for a year or more. Your best bet would be to simply replace the router with a better router.

but is there a certain pattern when the internet disconnect or why the router resets?? because it doesn't do it on a regular basis....maybe once a week...or maybe not even so....
