Hi, I bought an Acer Aspire a couple of months ago, as I live in Spain it was in Spanish, my friend "Cracked" it and it is now all in English, my problem is he had to wipe everything off and now I have to use a white Wi-Fi "Ariel" plugged into one of my USB ports. Is it possible for me to download a Wi-Fi driver back onto my laptop so I dont need to use this ugly "Ariel", thanks.

You'll have to download Launch Manager and a Wi-Fi driver for your particular model from Acer support website.

Thanks for the reply, when I go onto the Acer site there are 4 different LAN wireless driver's, how do I know which one to download? Also what is "Launch Manager" thanks for your help so far.

Launch Manager is Acer's software that controls those extra buttons and combos on your notebook- that includes Wi-Fi on/off switch so you need to have it installed for Wi-Fi to start.
Use this Acer app that recognizes your hardware to check which Wi-Fi driver do you need. -
Hi, I have downloaded Launch Manager and the Intel wifi driver off the Acer support site as you said, sorry to be a pain but what do I do now? how do I get the new driver to work? any chance you could walk me through it?

Does the Wi-Fi device show in Device Manager (under networking devices)?
If your notebook has a Wi-Fi on/off switch use it- otherwise see if Fn+F2 or Fn+F3 enables Wi-Fi.
What Acer notebook is it exactly? -
Its an Aspire 5749
In my device manager I have Network adapters or other devices, it dose'nt show in either!! -
Any unknown devices showing?
Something with a yellow triangle? -
It dose'nt seem to appear anywhere!! what have I done wrong? is it possible to not download it probaly??
When I press F3 I can find it in an compressed zipped folder? -
Wait- so you didn't install those?
Unpack the drivers and run setup.exe (the same for Launch Manager) -
Sorry what do you mean, what have I not installed? "Unpack the drivers and run setup.exe (same as Launch Manager)? sorry I'm a real idiot when it comes to techno stuff (Can you tell!)

You have to extract an archive (right clicking and choosing "extract" should work provided you have an app like WinRAR installed).
Once you extract each archive go to an extracted folder and double-slick on "setup".
