What I would do is uninstall every device in networking through device manager. Then Scan for hardware changes, and let it install the drivers to defaults, and see what happens.

I hit the reset button on the back of the Linksys router and now my girlfriend's HP laptop nor my laptop even pick up the signal as an available network? I type in the linksys config page ip address (192.168.1.1) and it doesnt even find it? Any help on what is going on or how i reconfig this thing?

Ok..so i held the reset button on the back of the linksys router for 10 sec then typed in the IP address for the router as I guess i will want to reconfigure the thing? (Do I?) It asked for my username and password...I KNOW i have the correct one but it keeps telling me its wrong. 2 questions.
1. What do I do if I cant get in? Anyway to reset username and password?
2. IF I do get in, what must I do (where do I go) to reset the router and get it back up and running
Currently I dont even pick up its signal in my available network
Using the ethernet cord works great so I know its not the modem or service

nevermind when i hit the restr button it reset to default setting and the password was thus changed to admin

SO since my current router is a b router my card in not compatable. And I believe my Intel 5100AGN would best support a N router (or am I wrong would a G work just as well or decently?) Anyway, i just want a cheap router that will work well with my laptop/card? Any suggestions on models? Also, G or N?

802.11g or 802.11n is your choice. If you want cheap, go to eBay and buy a Linksys WRT54G router. It's 802.11g, your card will work with it, and you won't spend more than $50 on it.

The above is a pretty good idea if your strapped for cash. I have set the WRT54G up for many people. I really dont like manufactures router softwares so I usually upgrade to:

Note: I didnt like the intel 5100 wifi at all so I upgraded......
