I have an SR190 CTO, and I just purchased a D-link DIR-825 dual-channel router so that I could have simultaneous 2.4 and 5ghz networks up for different purposes (the latter being for video streaming).
When I connect to the 2.4ghz network, the router reports that I'm connected using the wireless-N standard. However, when I had the 5ghz network configured as N-only, my computer refused to connect, saying "The capabilities of the wireless network adapter on this computer don't support the requirements of this network". When I changed the 5ghz network to work with G and N, it would connect, but only with G.
Is there a reason why the Intel wireless adapter would connect to the 2.4ghz network using the N-standard but not the 5ghz? In the network adapter properties there is a setting for 802.11n Channel Width for band 2.4 and 5.2, so I assume the capability should be there?
Thanks in advance

I guess 11n only supports 2.4GHz right now, and 5GHz will be supported around 2010.
So your Dlink 825 is dual channel as following
5GHz for 11a
2.4GHz for 11b/g/n
Your SR190 comes with 5100AGN is also dual channel as following
5GHz for 11a, (5.2GHz for 11n)? and 2.4GHz for 11b/g/n
If you set only N, you can't use 5GHz.
I think compatibility should be an issue between your Dlink and intel 5100. -
11n does support 5ghz from everything I've read. My wireless adapter config also has a setting for the 5.2ghz band channel width using 11n.
