Let me get this out of the way, I am not computer hardware savvy at all, a big fat 0%, and I've come to a road block in my pitiful efforts to get the right Wireless Network adapter to work.
Ok, so after factory resetting my Alienware 18 laptop, I went to Dell's site to install all the drivers for my computer. One that has been eluding me since I have done this, is the Network Controller and the other two "Unknown devices" in Device manager. Here's what the Hardware ID's are:
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43B1&SUBSYS_2B231A3B&REV_03
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43B1&SUBSYS_2B231A3B
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43B1&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_43B1&CC_0280
I looked it all up and it brought me to the Driver of Broadcom BCM4352 Wireless BT 4.0. I installed this from dell, but as I go to install it, it fails immediately. It says that a problem occured while installing the package, and it gives me a log that goes something like this:

Once again, I still have two unknown devices by the names of BCM20702A0 and Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller. Their hardware ID's look like this:
BCM20702A0
USB\VID_13D3&PID_3411&REV_0112
USB\VID_13D3&PID_3411
USB Conrtroller:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_05AB1028&REV_04
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_05AB1028
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&CC_0C03
I have no idea if they have an effect on the Network controller installer crashing, the Network installer at all, nothing, something, or anything. I also don't even know if the Driver I think was the right one for the Network Controller ID's WAS the right one or not...
I'll be ready to give any information that I can to help you help me resolve this problem. Any assistance is much obliged.
Also, sorry if I put this in the wrong category of the forum, not really sure where this would go.

The USB controller is "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver", you can download it from Dell of directly from Intel.
As for Bluetooth device, try this driver (click Telecharger).rrhuntington likes this. -
WhatsThePoint Notebook Virtuoso
Are you using Window 7?
Look in Control Panel>programs and uninstall the offending drivers, then reinstall with the ones you downloaded.
If all else fails take the notebook to someone that knows how to fix it or send it to Dell.
Unlike Windows 8.1 that contains most drivers to get your hardware up and running,Windows 7 requires almost all drivers to be installed manually on at a time after a clean OS installation..
Windows 7 needs the Intel chipset software and Microsoft's netFramework to be installed in order to get some hardware running.
Installing Windows 8.1 on a 3+ year old Sandy Bridge notebook needed only required me to install a card reader driver,Generic Microsoft drivers for all the other hardware were installed by the OS.
Windows 7 was great but it may be time to move on to 8.1.
You can also install the Windows 10 Insider Preview for free that also contains most drivers needed to get up and running. -
I do not know about that, other than the card reader, all of my drivers installed from the get go here. Of course there were preferred drivers, like the IRST and up to date wireless but that was about it. Oh there is the new 7260 not found by default but that is with the new wireless software. You can blame the driver database on them not putting out a SP2, but then again you are right, go get Windows 8.x plus so you can reward them for their bad behavior to try and force common users to upgrade. That will teach them a lesson for the system and features you want in the future.
