First things first. I am blank when it comes to modems/routers. I am looking for a router with modem in my region. I am giving a link below of the site offering a sale. Suggestions needed.
Routers with modems
Also, any router within that website is good enough.
Can someone jot down the points to be considered while buying a router. Tips and advice.
Thanks in advance.

It all depends on how you are going to use your WiFi bandwidth. If you're going to do a lot of streaming rented HD videos, setting up a NAS wirelessly or heavy online multiplayer gaming wirelessly, you will need a simultaneous dual band router as well as a dual band WiFi adapter. Also if you have 8 or more devices connected and using the WiFi simultaneously, a dual band router will do the job. You setup the router near your streaming / gaming device and connect to the 5 GHz band where there is far less inteferance than 2.4 GHz. If you just browse the web and stream flash videos wirelessly and then stream HD videos and games wired (ethernet), a cheap gigabit ethernet single band 2.4 GHz router will suffice.

A dual band means the ones with 300Mbps right? I will be doing a lot of multiplayer gaming. So from your suggestion I think I must go for 5 GHz band. Can you please suggest any good ones from the link provided? It'll be much helpful.

Yes. 300Mbps on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. These are the two ones I recommend:

Remember to also get a dual band wireless receiver in order to connect to the 5 GHz band. -
You can also get a 2.4 GHz only router if you are primarily going to play online multiplayer using Ethernet LAN. Just remember that nothing beats wired connection when it comes to lowest latency since wired connections aren't susceptible to radio waves and wall interferences. But if you are using a laptop and don't like using wires, 5 GHz connection should provide very low latency only if you are close to the router since 5 GHz has less range than 2.4 GHz even though 5 GHz provides faster throughput.

Wireless receiver? Can I not connect my devices directly?
-
Now that you say it, I think using a LAN connection is susceptible. Since my internet provider ain't top notch, wired will be my option to go with.

Your devices will connect but only on 2.4 GHz unless your laptop and other devices come with dual band wireless receiver. But then nothing beats wired connection when it comes to stable and lag free connection.
