I have moved to a new place and now have qwest DSL. I connected my D-Link DI-624 and did all the IP changes for the dlink and qwest modem to work. IVE NEVER had to set a password before but now I pretty much have to. THE WIRELESS workes fine but when I wanna set a WPA PASSPHARSE my laptop has trouble obtaining a IP ADDRESS. WHAT DO I DO?
BTW my security options are: WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA2-AUTO
THANK YOU

WEP is easy to set up but i really have no idea on the other security options. Can someone give an overview how to setup WEP2 and others? thanks.

Have you reviewed your router's manual?

I'm assuming you weren't using wifi before, right? When you get a wireless router, you need to go into its settings and manually configure the wifi network, including its name (SSID) and its security options.
WEP is old hat and should probably not be considered.
WPA/WPA2 are where its at if you want peace of mind about your wireless network's security, and you can make the password/phrase something easy for you to remember and type. You might also notice something called TKIP or AES. You'll wanna use AES.
WPA2-AES is the most secure option available, but some older wifi devices and adapters do not support it. In which case you can use WPA-AES.
I need help with wirless d-link router
