I get this invaild character message when I try to enter my password
on my router setup page. It says Windows Internet Explorer invaild characters. I have sbcglobal.net and the correct password. How do I correct this? Belkin and sbc are of no help.

Invalid char could be a space or non asci chr. Then you said Belkin. Everyone I have setup and worked on have been bad. None have worked for more than 30 days with out problems. You will probably need to reset the router. First try a power cycle, if that does not reset it back to factory and start over. The first thing you want to do is check to see if you are running the latest firmware. If not upgrade and try again. But if it's a new router return it and get a Dlink. Netgear are good but you only have 90 days free phone support. If this is 11n hardware you are looking for trouble down the road. Linksys is hit an miss, since Sisco bought them.

My Belkin router worked for a few months. We had a power surge here in Los Angeles and I cant get back and running. The invalid character is the problem. I do not know how to correct this. Mozilla is the same thing.

Make sure you clear all cache pages from the browsers, to force a clean load.
You only have a few options:
1. Do a reset. If that does not work.
2. Press and hold the reset button for 10 sec to reset back to factory. Then go through the setup process again.
3. Now you know why I don't like Belkin, Your failure is typical to what I have experienced. Return it if you can and buy something else. If you can't send it back to Belkin for repair.
One of my friends just bounced his off the wall and bought what I recommended. He bought it because it was cheaper. Cheap does not mean good. Another one went through 4 before he found one that worked more than 1 mo.
