I recently bought a new Thinkpad T500 with the Intel 5100 AGN. However, I have not been able to connect to MY home wireless network properly. The strange thing is, I can connect to my NEIGHBOR'S wireless properly but not my own?!?!? (that's how I'm on this right now)
I also tried and external (D-link WUA-2340) and that works too (along with my other laptop). Also, the card is recognized and it "connects" just... no internet. Seems stuck in "Identifying" status which after a while turns into "Unidentified Network" which only has local access.
I tried the power management solution on the intel website, but that doesn't work.
Does anyone know what's wrong? If so, is it a hardware problem or a software problem? Is it my card? Is it the router? Is it compatibility?

have you tried another channel on the router?
-
Make sure the router settings (usually at 192.168.1.1 depending on the router) match up with the 5100 settings (Device Manager, Networking, Intel 5100, Right Click Properties, Advanced).

Since the router assigns the IP, this is unnecessary.
To the OP: what router do you own? -
DL-524
It's by d-link -
Well, since that router has been discontinued, there won't be any real help available from the D-Link forums. This is probably just a simple router configuration issue. Have you gone into the router configuration pages and checked your settings? Also, what operating system are you using, and are you using the Intel utility to manage your wireless, or are you using the Windows utility?
