Lately, whenever I wake my Sager np8130 up from sleep mode, the wireless takes a good 3-4 minutes to connect to my router. It can see all the available connections immediately, but the actual process of connection takes a long time. I have updated my driver to 14.1.1 from the intel site, and the computer is only a month old.
I've disabled the power management to put the card to sleep, and have wireless adapter set to maximum performance in the power settings. The router is a Zyxel pk5000z with qwest dsl.
Also, if I disable the adapter and then re-enable it, it can connect immediately. Same if I hit the built in function key to turn wireless on and off, although that takes around 30 seconds.
Any ideas?

Small update, hopefully this makes a difference. I've been using the disabling/enabling method every time I wake it up from sleep lately, and it seems to take longer and longer each time. Was maybe 15-20 seconds last week, now it takes around a minute or so. Also, I put the computer in sleep mode last night, then opened it back up again within 10 minutes and it immediately connected without having to fiddle with it. That just seemed really odd to me...
Is my card just a dud or what? -
Hi mate,
I am 99.9% sure your card is not dud.
Just so you know, us Dell XPS15/17 owners are having exactly the same issues. Our machines come loaded with various configurations of WLAN Centrino cards (N1000/N6200/N6230/N6300 etc) but they all utilise the same Intel driver. The latest drivers that Dell/Intel have released are affecting a lot of people in the same way as you are experiencing when waking up from sleep mode.
I have solved the problem....but I had to purchase RAXCO's 'Perfect Updater' (PU) which if you haven't heard of it, is a Driver utility program that scans your machine and ensures all your drivers are up-to-date. PU downloaded a different driver for WLAN card and the problem was solved.
I'm at work at the moment so cannot tell you the driver revision number, but I will find out later and let you know. I would put £100 on the issue being down to the dodgy Intel driver....
Cheers
Lee
PS. If you don't mind spending £20 (or $ equiv) I would really advise this software....it's really resource light and identified that almost 25% of my drivers were out-of-date (even though these drivers are current on the Dell website!!!). -
Hello, try installing the latest drivers from intel

See if it makes a difference. -
Following on from my earlier message, the driver you want that will solve your problems is 14.1.3
I will put 'rep' points on this solving your problems
Cheers

Having the same problem. Currently running driver version 14.1.1.3. Tried reordering network adapter priorities. Still no dice.
Anyone have any ideas?
