I want to upgrade my Asus G73JW's wireless card (crappy atheros adapter at this moment) to Intel's Ultimate N 6300
does this card looks legit?
Amazon.com: Intel Half Centrino Ultimate-n 6300 Pci-e Card 633anhmw 802.11a/b/g/n 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz Spectra 450 Mbps (10056): Computers & Accessories
Seller says that it comes straight from Intel. -
I got the 6250 and I cant seem to enable the N function - keeps getting G speeds of 54mbps :>
Anyone has a solution for that?
P.S Wireless n mode is enabled by default in system properties. -

@hirosama
Also make sure you use WPA2 + AES as security and that WMM is enabled. -
On the card: Security setting is WPA2/AES. I disabled WMM (because QoS mode does not apply to Apple routers) but uses 5.2 GHZ exclusively, or 'preferred band'.
On my router (Apple Airport Extreme 5th. Gen.) settings:
5.2GHZ Channel: 153
2.4GHZ Channel: 6 (if using mixed band.
Speed is 240-300mbps. So it all depends on your router and area. -
I just installed a 6300 in my xps 18 and added the third wire. I have a Linksys E4200.
NO matter what I cannot connect at 450mbps. I noticed in the device settings for the wifi card, the channel is either auto or 20. odd they dont let you choose 40 specifically

Make sure you are trying to connect to 5GHz band not 2.4GHz.

Quick update.
After purchasing another card for my wife with PN:622ANXHMW it works at N speeds and it`s recognized as AGN card in device manager.
So, BEWARE of any cards with PN 622AGXHRU which I reckon are suited for the russian market and they are ABG unfortunately.
Cheers!
PS I freaking broke my power button ribbon cable connector clip cuz of that and I'm LF solution in another thread..lol..not
