I'm stuck in a place whose only internet connection is provided by a BT Voyager 105 modem to an old iMac. This is hell, but the connection is theoretically GOOD!
Whilst I should just use the spare Voy 205 modem around and try and buy an ethernet cable, I had an interesting idea.
I used the mac to download xp mode, transferred it to my 7 laptop, and installed it. Then I installed the incompatiable hardware inside XP Mode, and thus I am posting on the internet courtesy of.
But how do I get Windows 7 to access the internet courtesy of the connection provided by the virual XP mode? It's clear that they can communicate - but why can't they transfer http or otherwise data?
Any help notebookreview?

Add the Shared Networking (NAT) adapter in Windows XP Mode along with the normal adapter and that should do it.
-
hmm either Use Senpai's Method or use Proxy servers like AnlaogX Proxy to share inet connection from XP mode to Windows 7
-
Both the Internal Network and Shared Network (NAT) adapter are activated, but windows 7 doesn't recognise any virtual adapters.
Am I missing something? -

you can network between virtual xp and your win7?
-
Hmm... I don't recall 7 seeing any of the virtual adapters since it ties together the physical ones that are installed.
Try bridging the NAT adapter with the one you're using in XP mode and see what that does, although that sounds a bit redundant.
And yes, you can create a mini network between the host OS (7) and the virtual one (XP), if they're on the same workgroup/domain anyway. You might want to check for that as well.
Interesting hack needs help: Using "XP Mode" to connect normal 7 to the internet! (using legacy hardware!)
