Hey guys, just a quick question! I'm planning on buying an Alienware m17x but I'm not sure what wireless card I should buy :?
The Killer Wireless-N 1103 seems really fancy and all and has tons of awesome reviews but I'm not so sure if I actually need it!
So my dilemma stemmed from the following;
- 50% of the time that I'll be using the laptop, I'll probably be plugged into a modem or an ethernet connection
- Most of the wireless internet connections around here don't have a speed higher than 1mps tops
- It's $70!

If you plan to play on wifi,have 70$ to spend and plan on getting good wireless connection in the future then get it. Software is fancy and I myself dont use it to its full potential as I am not that good with computers but I get better pings on wifi then on wired gaming.

That's a good card buy way to expensive. I wouldn't buy it especially that you need a proper router to really make use of it- and you're not gonna be using it anyway.
If Wi-Fi is faster tahn Ethernet in terms of latency either your router is complete crap or- what I find way more likely- there is an issue with an Ethernet wire.
Check another one- especially if the one you are using has been bent much or stepped on.
