I was waiting a new Intel BT driver

 

Intel WiFi driver version 22.0.0.6
Driver was extracted from a recent Windows Insider Build and uploaded to my mediafire account.

It seems older Killer 1535 and below driver only files have vanished from main Killer/Intel website and haven't been updated in long time.

 

Killer is dead. They killed their selves with their bloatware and Intel bought them now. Nothing has been updated on their site in ages they might as well close it.

Both of my machines with 22.10.0.2 installed think their present driver is the most current one, i.e., they refuse to install 22.20.0.3 from this folder. FYI. Thanks for uploading anyway.

 

That's very surprizing being that I installed it on top of 22.10.0.2 on 7 drives in 3 different PCs running windows 10 Pro x64.Two PCs have the AX210 and one has an AC9560.
All I did was go to Device Manager>Bluetooth>Intel Wireless Bluetooth>Driver>Update Driver>Browse Computer and select the unzipped BT22.20.0.3 folder.
Once the installation folder is selected it was a piece of cake on all 7 SSDs with Windows 10 x64 20H2
Has anyone else had an issues updating a Windows 10 x64 PC with the 22.20.0.3 Bluetooth driver?

 

That's exactly the process I used on both of my machines - one has a Killer 1650 (AX200) and the other has an Intel AX200. Fortunately, BT is working just fine on both computers, so it's "not broken" I will just wait for the next version to come down the pike. This is a puzzlement, though..

 

Did you ensure the file is not blocked before unzipping it?

Make sure to right click on the file(s) you just downloaded, go to Properties, then hit Unblock from the bottom right as it may be blocked since it was downloaded from the internet, if you don't do this before you run the file or extract it, then it may not install correctly.

Nope - not blocked, and unzips normally. I still get the "best driver is already installed" message. Zip file size matches yours, and the unzipped folder contains the three files, ibtusb.cat, ibtusb.inf, and ibtusb.sys.

 

One other way to try installing the drivers is to point the installation to the inf file in the folder by taking the browse a bit further.
Device Manager>Bluetooth>Intel Wireless Bluetooth>Driver>Update Driver>Browse Computer>Let Me Pick>Have Disk>Browse>Desktop>BT22.20.0.3 folder>ibtusb.inf>open>OK.Next

My BT22.20.0.3 folder is on the desktop but yours may be someplace else

 

So... this method - pointing to the specific inf file - allows installation, if one ignores the error message "this file may not be compatible". My OS version is 19042.685. However, after installation of 22.20.0.3, the Intel update critter immediately says "there is a new version of your software for BT". The Intel site: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30061 thinks that their version 22.20.0.2, December 1, is more recent than 22.20.0.3 from November 27. That's why the other install wouldn't work. However, the installed driver carries an October date. I think someone mixed up some dates. In any event, all works.

 

From Intel Download Center the newest version I find is 22.10 where as this ix 22.20
Anyway I'm glad it was able to install via inf file selection.

Hey, for 1535 killer wlan, is it v12.0.938/948? At Killer's website, I'm seeing direct link to microsoft update catalog with 948 version. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Qualcomm Atheros 12.0.0.948

 

I see many downloads in that page for the same version. Which one should I download?

Today one of those odd things with Windows Insider builds happened with the inclusion of Intel Wi-Fi driver 22.0.1.5 dated 01/17/2021

Intel Wi-Fi Issues Fixed:

• The connection of WiFi adapters to 5GHz networks may not work.
• If a system is connected to an access point via channel 165 and the Windows 10 mobile hotspot function is activated and the 5 GHz network is shared, the mobile hotspot network is not visible to other systems in the WLAN scan list.
• Windows Stop Errors (BSOD) related to the Intel Wireless Driver can occur.

Intel Bluetooth Issues Fixed:

I was somewhat disappointed yesterday that a new 22.30.x.x Intel WiFi driver was not offered in the latest 21H1 and 20H2 Insider builds.
The only driver update was NVIDIA graphics driver version 470.05.

Never assume but I assumed saying a NEW driver would be understood as newer than 22.30.0.11 that has been around since killernetworking posted it on January 30th
22.30.1.1 was a beta driver being tested but maybe it was found to have issues and another version may go public soon/maybe/could be....maybe not....assuming again.

Maybe I'm still suffering after effects from the 2nd does of the Moderna Covid 19 vaccine that I received last Saturday afternoon.The 1st dose had zero after effects for me but a few hours after the 2nd dose I had a lot of pain in my arm where the injection was made and developed a fever that lasted a good 24 hours.Five days later and I can still feel a bit of upper arm discomfort.
A couple of glasses of good Texas craft beer should help a little later.

 

To be honest, I personally haven't seen any difference between these driver updates. But I just do it for the heck of it.

 

Driver 22.30.0.11 plus registry tweaks may only be beneficial if you are one of the few with the Asus AXE11000 6E router.
The 6E router and 6E mesh rollout seems to be really slow.

Updated the link above with the EXE installer of the Bluetooth Driver as the previous INF one was tricky to install.

 

So far, so good - initially, they clobbered my APTX driver (BT), but a re-installation of the special CSR driver and a reboot brought it back. All good here.

Works for me - both Killer 1650 and Intel cards seem fine with it.

 

Intel bought Killer, they are the exact same cards, same drivers, just different firmware (the Killer auto downloads the Killer crap)

 

I know - that's why I never go to the Killer site. Because they are the same card, they should behave the same - but not everyone knows they are identical.
