Its a WRT54GS, I mistakenly put only WRT54G in the topic heading.

Is the linksys WRT54GS wireless router good enough and stable enough to be able to game on a laptop? Also will it offer a constant connect?

I heard AIM disconnects alot on wireless....is this true?

    Thanks

and overall how good is this router?

Performance is good. If you live in a densely populated area, it is best to use a different channel since a great deal of interference exists. Default is channel 6. You may experiment to see what works.

The router is decent but mine died after 3.5 years.

Instead of spending $59 for the Linksys with Speedbooster, I got the D Link MIMO 108G router for $69. It works pretty good and setup was <10".
