Okay pick up a Dlink dir-655 today and having an issue with connection. Read all the reviews and apparently this is a good wireless router. Well, in my case its not. I keep on losing wired connection when I had it connection to the 655. I keep on getting this error "The network cable is upplugged" even tho its plugged in. I try rebooting the router and my modem and still get getting lost connection. I cant even connect to dlink default router setup page. I have it set to channel 1 and its not blinking. I look at my modem and the activity light which normally stays solid is now blinking in and out. I using running xp sp3. Never had a issue with my old wireless router linksys wrt54g

What category of network cable are you using? have you tried another cable?
-
using cat5e and i have try several cables and same thing. I also plugged in my notebook and i could see it disconnecting. Dont know what else to do... was trying to flashing the firmware from 1.20 to the lately one but i heard people having issues when they update their firmware. losing connection in the middle of flashing the firmware will brick the router.
