    Well heres the story...

    recently i have found out something that gets annoying...

    when my neighbour uses his microwave, i lose connection to my Netgear router... yet when i use MY microwave, its fine, no problems.

    Anybody got a cure?

    lol how did you find out that there was the connection? You could maybe try a directional antenna if that is possible for you, might boost the signal, or could u move the router to a differnt part of the house?

    LOL! haha ... there is something clearly wrong with his microwave oven then! I think wireless internet uses microwave as well....but shouldnt it be at a different frequency? Maybe you neighbour is using some cheap brand microwave that buzzes out aa large range of microwaves??? :confused: :p :p :D :eek:

    Yeh maybe the microwave is a cheapie... maybe u can convince them to wrap it in tin-foil?.... or line your appt in foil. or buy them a toaster oven lol.

    On a side note, i know at our school the system admin has a 2.4 ghz phone, its funny when he walks down the hall with it, people all lose their connection to the wireless haha

    well i know hes using it, cuz i can hear it lol... im living in a semi-detatched house :) everytime i hear it, i lose connection, then when it stops, im connected lol.... happens everytime :confused:

    meh, i will be moving in a years time lol, it dont happen that often, but when he uses it, it always cuts it off.... ahh well ill have to put up with it for now, thanks anyway :)

    Maybe he has some aliens in his house that have a special device that hacks into your Internet connection enabling them to chat with American President George W. Bush about top secret plans. How does the microwave come into all this, you ask? Your neighbour turns on his microwave as a diversion.

    Want a cool way to see the effects of a microwave turned on on your wireless?

    Download NetStumbler, open up the program, and find your network on there, go to your network channel and click on it to open up a graph showing signal strength. Let it run for a minute or two, then turn on the microwave.

    WTF? Microwave ovens don't make much noise. A lot less than a blender, disposal, or TV for that matter. Are your walls made of paper? Or cardboard maybe? Can you hear your neighbor when he farts?

    Time for a new house I think.
