I need a router basically to share internet with the home pc, we are in a two story house, laptop on second floor, pc in basement. I have taken a look at bestbuy routers and they vary in price from 50 - 250 but I dont know why as I am not a technical expert on routers and what they offer. For instance, what is the difference between a wireless G and a wireless N? If all i want is to share internet with the pc what one would you suggest.

Take a look at my options here

and I was leaning to the Linksey on sale for 50 dollars? It doesnt have a product number but you will see it in there.

between dlink and linksey I guess I should stick with linksey but I read in here the new ones arent good.

Linksys is probably your best bet. And get the G, since N is not compatible with most things so you won't be able to take advantage of it.

Using a Linksys WRT54GS here, works excellently with the 802.11g laptops in the house. Easy setup as well. Don't forget to use WPA2 encryption.

That first one is not wireless, so do not buy it if you want to use wireless.

The GS model is built better than the G, and has some small but noticeable improvements/features. It's worth the extra money to get the GS over the G in my opinion.
