I`m between the too. Not looking to Spend more than 60 bucks. They're 50ish on amazon for refurbished. What would you recommend? Ive always gone with Cisco/Linksys for years love them. BUT I perfer there to BE LIGHTS on front that I can see the the E3200 doesnt only in the back![]()
I will also be using DD-WRT
What do ya`ll recommend for a lot of use and around 25ish devices at once?
Or is there ANY OTHER around that price Range I could get thats good and can have DD-WRT? and has indicator lights?
If it wasnt for speed and gigibit I would use my old WRT54gs lol

If it's a WNDR3700v2, get the WNDR, otherwise i'd get the E3200.
-
I dont know
Its on amazon. So would v2 be worth it over the e3200?
Any other router recomendations in that price range? -
Nothing as good in that price range. The WNDR3700 and E3200 are after all more in the 80-100$ range brand new. You're looking at refurb high end routers so unless you can find a refurb Asus RT-N56U or E3000 in the same price range, nope nothing.
The v2 has slightly better throughput than the E3200, but both are still very good routers. I had an E3000,the E3200 is basically an E3000v2, i was getting very good throughput as well as no dropped connections. I since replaced with an E4200v1 and it's even better, but out of your price range. You'd be looking at 100$ for a refurb E4200. I can'T remember what is wrong with the WNDR3700v3 though, but IIRC it had something going against it.
Check the buyer's guide sticky, it's in need of a small update, but the basics are there. While the OP hasn't been updated, if you go through the rest of the discussion, you'll have all the info you need. -
Well Ive read a LOT of bad things about the E3000 I found one for $60
I would have instantly bought it cause it had indicater laters but ive read a lot of bad things about it:/
How is TP-Links Wireless router? -
What bad things, if you mean overheating, mine never overheated or caused me problems for that matter. I'm not sure if it was due to my ambient or a newer revision though.
-
Just slowing down issues. Would the e3000 be better than the E3200? Cause right now im leaning towards the e3200 cause its newer
What do u think of belkin? -
I'd take the E3200 over the E3000 personally. I'd avoid anything D-Link and Belkin as well if possible. Cisco, Netgear, Asus put out good hardware and good firmware, although Asus' firmware isn't at the same level as other two. TP-Link has found it's niche in the bang for the buck.
If you don't need 5GHz, then a TP-Link router like the one in the router guide might not be a bad idea at all.
By the way, the absence of frontal lights isn't really an issue to me personally. The lights at the back are bright enough that you know they're lit and personally i never needed them to diagnose anything since my routers never caused me problems. I've had the E3000 for a good two years and it never slowed down or dropped connections and so far, the E4200 has been performing flawlessly as well. I am mostly using the 5GHz band though. -
Okay thanks I`ll prob order the e3200.
I HATE DLINK haha. But I bought a Belkin n750 DB at walmart, Most liklely il prob return it i NEVER like to pay retail for things like this but WOW it has preformed very well better than my WRT310n so far 5GHZ sucks but Only my OLD thinkpad tablet and my cell phone uses 5ghz anyway lol. But the 2.4ghz range is AWESOME compaired to the 310N,
How do u think the n750 would compair to the e3200? -
I just ordered the E3200. I got that Belkin this morning and its so Far A LOT better than my 310N Linksys
-
lots of people saying the e3200 runs too hot.
-
Lots of peeps were saying that of the E3000 too and mine never overheated. It did get hot when ambients were at 27-28C, but never to the point where heat was a problem.
In any case, just put it on a flat surface and there shouldn't be any problems. -
The Belkin so far is NICE! its VERY reliable. So I`ll test the 2 whenever I get the E3200 in the mail friday
-
In the end, it's usually a matter of firmware usability as well as overall maximum and individual throughput. There aren't that many people that will use the max throughput available on a router though.
I transfer data, and large amounts at that, often over my network, so for me a few MB/s more means a lot of time saved when i transfer a couple of GB worth of data. -
What are your views on belkin? Ive always never really cared for them
