I have a netgear wireless G router and i am not getting great speed at all. I ran a speed test of upload and dload and it is not very good at all on wifi. I have a 100mb connection showing when I unhooked the wifi router and plugged straight to the laptop. Then ran the test and i got 18909 kb per sec on the Dload and 733 for the Up load. I know that i am not going to be as fast on the wifi but i get 6800 Dload and 700Upload when the hard line is plugged in to the wireless router and i am using the wifi for the laptop. This low speed equals a display when browsing that says network has timed out and unable to connect to some web pages and constantly refreshing the pages till it shows up. I was wondering if their is anything that i can do to get this working properly. This is also the same slowness on the PC that has the broad band switch running through the wifi router

signal strength? Can you move closer to the router? Do you have the newest drivers? A wireless n router would also boost your performance.
You have the Intel 5100AGN card--what mode is it in? Mixed or set to just wireless G? -
signal strength is at 100 %, i have updated the latest driver for the wifi that was given on the automatic updates for the laptop. the wired thing is that the pc that i am using that has the ethernet hard cable and the with the hub that leads to the wifi router has the same speed. So the pc that is setup to provide the wifi still gets the same speed.

It's different now that I've change to wireless (draft) N, both the router and my notebook WiFi card. There isn't much different between the notebook directly connected to the router using LAN cable vs. wireless. -

Don't know whether it's same case or not. But in my case, the hard line is also upgraded from fast ethernet to gigabit ethernet as I change my wireless router from G to N (I bought Linksys WRT310N).

Why is your upload so much faster than your download? It should be the other way...
