Hi all
Having some issues with linksys router on Virgin Media broadband. We recently moved house and carried all the existing router settings over, and everything worked fine. However, my other half's PC, running XP, was showing the network to be unsecured (although mine was not), so I tried to set it up again. Anyway, after messing around, I now pick up three new networks everytime my router is turned on. They are named "linksys", "linksys 2", "linksys 2 3". Obviously not what I planned and I don't know what I've done.
I have no idea why three networks appear to arise from the router. I would like to reset the lot so a single network is shown. Is this necessary, and how do I go about doing this without it just creating more "linksys 3" and "linksys 4"s?
Incidentally, I have MAC filter on and network hidden
Thanks all

I would right click on the icon and would delete the duplicated ones.

Where are these three networks appearing? In the network connections window?
If that's where they are appearing, then wirelessman's advice is best - it's likely the case that your system created a new network object each time you rejiggered the network settings, and never updated those objects when you changed settings the next time.
Also, are you running WinXP or WinVista? If you're running WinVista, you should make sure that you have the Link Layer Topology Discovery ("LLTD") Responder from Microsoft installed on your other half's system - basically, WinVista systems cannot "see" WinXP systems on the network unless the LLTD Responder has been installed on the WinXP systems.
The Microsoft KB article describing the issue is KB922120, which contains a link to download the LLTD Responder.
One router, multiple networks?!
