    Is it possible to use just a ethernet cable to connect two laptops to play condition zero or send files?

    This might be very primitive but would like to know

    Yeh it's possible the way you describe.

    You just have to set static IPs and subnets.

    Maybe back in the day but depending on the NIC it can automatically do the crossover.
