Got my new Linksys Wireless-N (WRT310N) router in the mail today. I'm anxious to hook it up BUT...When I inspected the router, I discovered that it does not have a phone jack provision for my Vonage service.
Is there a work around for this or am I SOL?
Thanks for responding,
Jim

If i am not mistaken, this is only a ROUTER with no built-in ADSL modem. Which means this model is mainly for CABLE broadband users who MUST have their cable providers modem plugged in directly to this router into the internet Ethernet connection port.
The only way around this is if you have a ADSL modem which has a Ethernet connection port. (most likey the one that came with your ISP was a usb connection?, if so, you are out of luck) -
I have Comcast as my ISP. So I'm cool with the modem and the router.
My previous (current) router was(is) a Linksys "G" that also has provisions for two phone lines built into it. I didn't think the new "N" router would have the phone jack deleted.
I just noticed there is a Vonage adapter that you can connect side-by-side with an existing router... but it's $80!!
I'm not spending anymore $ on a phone I never use. I only keep it for the kids and 911.
Is there a cheaper way? Can I hook my "G" router to my "N" router via ehternet just to use the phone jack?
Thanks

Its best if you get a refund, just did some research, if you buy the WAG version, it comes with the DSL connection (rj-11 phone line socket, google for image of rj-11 if you need to).
WRT versions for cable come with the rj-45 (ethernet socket)
here is a model Linksys WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway -
Wouldn't that mean it has a RJ-11 "IN" port.
What I need is the RJ-11 "OUT" port to plug my phone into. I works like 3-4 ethernet ports commonly provided on routers.

He doesn't need the dsl connection since hes on comcast a BORADBAND service. I am 99% sure that hooking your old router up to the new one and add it as a DMZ will let you keep your vonage line.

so your old router had vonage support built in and your new one does not. refund and get one that works
-
Just disable DHCP you your old router and connect the WAN on it to the LAN on your new router.

that may or may not work depending on how the vonage component of that router works. would be worth a try.
Problem, my new Linksys "N" router does not have a phone jack for my Vonage, Did I mess Up?
