Hello!
All of the desktops in my household have network connections and cards that are all pre-gigabit networking.
If I get a gigabit router such as the D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router will the desktops with older connections still work as they normally did before, OR will I have to get new cards or USB adapters for the desktops in order to use them at all?
Thanks a ton!

Your old computers will still work as they used to (100mbps).

What charr said, BUT, any computers with gigabit probably won't run at gigabit. Those routers usually only run at the speed of the lowest speed device attached. So if you have two computers with gigabit NICs, they'll only communicate at 10/100 speeds.

Hm, all my desktops have the same speed about, so no worries there, but that wont effect my wireless connections on my laptops which will likely operate at N, yes/no?
-
Correct, it will not effect the wireless.

Awesome, that's good to know and that's all i needed to inquire about for now, thank you
Just gotta figure out which one to get at best buy now.
