Hi there folks, im afraid i havent time to look through ALL of the posts here for a solution but didnt find one from my initial skimming so here goes...
Right, i recently bought a Zepto Znote 6214 and am very happy with it so far, apart from a 'little' problem which has cropped up recently. Dont worry, this post IS about network problems, not an issue with my Z-note!
Our house has wireless broadband spewing forth from a BT modem and wireless router combo box. My laptop actually has an ethernet cable running to it which i sometimes connect in the vain hope that it will increase my internet performance; basically i switch between wired and wireless fairly often.
My problem is that of late my 'net has been dying on me, well, that's not strictly true. MSNmessenger and my internet browsers (firefox/IE) have been dying; downloading files, BITlord and the like still work fine, which is what has me confused. Im not a complete idiot over computers, but there is nothing i have been able to do to restore a connection other than rebooting the laptop.
These 'disconnections' are happening between 30mins - 2 hours roughly, and are becoming increasingly annoying. ANY help at all on this matter would be very greatly appreciated!! If you need more information i am very happy to do my best to find it.
Cheers

You could also try updating your firmware for the router, and updating the drivers for your wireless card. Do these drops happen at a certain time of day or at random?

Ok, firstly thanks for the replies.
zx10guy, i downloaded Wireshark (the new name for Ethereal it seems) and have run a few captures, problem is i dont have a clue what to do with all the data it has churned out
Any help on that would be great.
I've been paying a bit closer attention to when the internet goes down and what i've been doing at the time. I tried playing Battlefield 2142 for a few hours solid and surprisingly didnt lose my connection, whether this was chance or other im not sure. I also tried disabling my firewall(s) which seemed to make no difference at all...
If the situation doesnt get any better, i could always return to a drive-image of when the laptop was clean and determine whether it's software or something else causing the problem, but obviously this isnt ideal as frankly i dont have time to re-install everything!
Cheers again
