Here's a random question for the day - is it possible to create a VPN connection to yourself? Like 127.0.0.1? Hmm...I wonder if i can get past the Great Firewall of China by doing this (if it works)...![]()
-
why would you want to do that? completely pointless.
-
being in china, some websites are blocked
so I heard that they cannot filter content going through a secure connection (hence why software like hotspot shield exists) like VPN. Will this work, though? -
not a vpn to yourself...thats missing the point of a vpn
create a tunnel. with putty to a secure server over in america and go that way. simple. -
btw...its not a firewall that blocks china's internet its DNS. they restrict which DNS servers you can use and then they govern their DNS servers.
how do you restrict DNS? simply block DNS requests outside of a set IP range. -
Hmm...i also read once that if you set your computer to ignore the tcp reset flag you should be able to get through, how do you do that?
-
through packet injecton, or in this case you would be changing the packet.
