Need a rec. for a router for a friend using a laptop with an Intel G wireless card (I think the 2200). Their house is large and the modem was installed in the garage, so looking for one with particularly good signal strength.
A couple of years ago I installed the Netgear Rangemax 834 Mimo router in my home and there was tremendous improvement in range and connectivity. Which of the current crop of routers would work similarly?
Thanks

hmm i have the 2200 too...and i don't like it at all
....i recently bought linksys wireless G card with SRX which work much better
ok back on topicif their house is that large then....why not get a signal booster as well?
MIMO won't work with the 2200....so you won;t have the advantage of that. Also getting a high-gain antenna for the router might also be a good idea.

I don't know if it was actually the MIMO that worked with my daughter's 2200, but I do know the Netgear Rangemax 834 MIMO router increased the signal strength and range significantly and actually was the answer for us. I could be totally mistaken, because I'm sketchy on how these things work, but my understanding is that they boost the signal strength.
Any recommendations for a current model with strong signal strength?
Rec. for router using G but good range, stable
