Hey Guys,
I've had a great experience with this company and I just wanted to let you guys know. I opted for a paid subscription but there are also ways to get one for free. They're located at (www.supervpn.net). If your ISP throttles your internet for certain things then this is ideal. I use it mainly for torrents and some Hulu. They have so many locations that you can chose from, so be it Hulu, iPlayer, etc. you can get involved. The speed is great. I expected a big drop when connected to a vpn but it worked great and haven't felt a drop in speed so far. Anyway I just wanted to see if people had heard of them before and if you guys want any more info just pm me and ill help as much as possible.

I don't know about most of you, but as a college student with internet always being watched, I started looking for solutions right away. As I was searching, I found out the college blocked various proxy websites, as well as some for VPNs. This disturbed me even more, since there is nothing about them in the computer policy. Luckily, I came across Super VPN Service. My college was not smart enough to block out PPTP, so I had no problem connecting or using the service. Is it wrong to try and keep my internet surfing anonymous? Hardly, since I'm paying $20,000 a year in tuition, they shouldn't be watching me. For any other college student, or anyone at all looking to keep others from monitoring their online habits, Super VPN does a great job for only $8 a month. Btw, they have a $96 two year deal thats great for those who desire it for the long term.

You should sue your college first!

It's pretty interesting. Can you confirm it doesn't choke your connection down?
-
Unfortunately I can't because of their policies, trust me, I've considered it
Can't really confirm, since my connection is really slow without it -
I may consider a 2 year plan which makes the price really good but I'd have to know if the whole thing is reasonably quick.

KC2PLL try doing a speed test using speedtest.net with VPN enabled and disabled
kind of OOT: but has anybody heard of "hidemyass" VPN? -
The community college Im taking classes at now limits pretty much all traffic except surfing. Sad as I cannot SSH or FTP on my personal laptop. My Alma mater on the other hand did not limit and shut down ports. Kinda sad if you ask me, but Ill stick to my remote setup.

Thanks for sharing supervpn. I was looking for a vpn services a couple of months ago. I first setup my own VPN using Amazon awe but it was not stable and it was too much work. I am currently using cheap paid VPN service like HMA. For me the most important factor to consider is whether the smtp port is blocked and whether the VPN service is blocked in certain countries like China. I suggest find these out first. Here is a review of HMA VPN service . Hope this helps.

The problem is when I run speedtest with the VPN on, I get the speed of their connection, not my own. That said, I have been doing a bunch of real world loading tests with and without the VPN yesterday and today, seems the VPN is practically the same speed
-
No you're getting your speed through their service and that's the point of the test.

There are lots of ways you can access banned or blocked sites which mostly not open in normal browsing like facebook, youtube in china. So vpn service connection is the ultimate solution, I am big fan of VPN reviews because of their fast speed and reliable connection not like others. You can easily access sites without knowing by college authority.

Right now I use Hotspot Shield and it works great as a completely-free VPN. I'm a privacy nut as well and I'd rather not have my connection snooped on.
