Hi,
Details:
1. Using XP Pro SP3 (32-bit)
2. Laptop = Sony VAIO VGN-FZ140E
3. Recently purchased a TP-Link Router (TL-WR740N) which claims to give 150 Mbps speed
The Problem:
When connected, my Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN shows a speed of only 65 Mbps . A friend came over with his laptop (having Windows 7) and was able to get 150 Mbps speed.
Can someone please help me fix the problem so that I can also get the same speed. Do I need to upgrade the driver? If so how and from where? Or maybe the solution is much simpler? Please help. Will be very thankful.

morland: It may be your security settings that are not allowing you to get a higher speed. I use intels web site to update. When you go to there site they will ask permission to run a program that detects what driver you have. If there is a newer driver available they will list its link and give you a choice as to what you want to do with it.

Thanks for the reply reb1. Already updated to the latest driver from the intel site but still the same results.

What are your security settings? Try WPA2 and AES.
It still doesn't explain 65mbps (without WPA2 it should be 54mbps) but anyway another thing to test. -
Hi and sorry for the late feedback. Tried almost everything that came to mind (including the security settings) but could not solve the problem. Gave up since it was had already taken too much time
well on the +ve side at least the internet is working.
Regards.
