Coming from a previous post, I am trying to find a do-it-all solution for inexpensive wireless storage. Refer: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=89934
Review of Netgear's SC101: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/nas/nas-reviews/review_sc101
Purpose of SC101: to store tons of media data for future wireless access via notebook (aka "ultra mobile entertainment")
Seeking solution: an inexpensive router compatible both with my machine's wireless card (listed below) and with the SC101, that's on the par with today's security protocols, and works perfectly with NY's Verizon Online DSL service and equipment.

ummm..I might be missing it but that doesn't seem to be a wireless NAS. If its wired then any standard wireless router should work fine. I'd recomend linksys or netgear.

Right, it's some evolution on the NAS idea: the SAN.
How then would I go about finding my perfect router with all the different features, brands, and prices floating around? -

I would recomend that router. I've installed probably 25 of those things so far and had great luck. I had one that has had to be reset once but thats it. Not the cheapest but it does have MIMO that DOES increase range even if not used with a matching wireless card. It has has the latest wireless security features and should compliment your setup nicely. I do however recomend not using the setup CD. If you know anything about router setup just do it manually, much faster and easier. -
And if I am a psuedo-novice in networking how will I configure it manually?
-
you can still use the CD but its almost as easy as plugging everything together then just typing 192.168.1.1 into the browser window, logging into to it and setting it up, the GUI is rather easy with them.
What kind of connection are you on? -
Verizon Online DSL in NY.

I don't know how they set that up but if its PPPoe then you just need a username and password to put into the router. You can often choose to put the login info in the router or the modem. I generally choose the router for easier access.
basically setup on most routers is the same with very minor differences. -
Thanks, that's good to know. Ease of use and a no-hassle installation are important to me.
The most compatible router with e1710 & Netgear SC101
