I was just wondering if anyone used this travel router and wanted to know their thoughts on it.
I purchased one yesterday and between dealing with customer service for close to 2 hours and trying to get it to work I got fed up with it. Somehow it became inoperable so I got a replacement today but before I try using it again I wanted to get some thoughts on it.
Thanks in advance.

Whats the problem you are having? Trying to use two routers in a LAN can be a tricky but do-able.

I purchased this since my parents just have a dsl/desktop setup and I do not want to be confined to the desk while on the internet whenever I go over there to visit them.
The router would not configure at all. I kept getting low to no connectivity. After I got off the phone with customer service, the ethernet connection on the travel router did not function.
CS asked me if I was able to hook up to the net from the dsl line and I was able to but everytime the setup involved just the travel router it simply did not work.
I noticed that there are a couple of wireless connections in the "area" (I guess in my parent's neighborhood) but I get the same message (low to no connectivity) whenever I try to access them. -
You can probrably buy a router for them, they're pretty cheap nowadays, lots of stores have massive rebates, Just check Brian's Deal's thread

What kind of setup are you using at your own home? Do you have any configurations that would interfere with the travel router? You might even want to try to reinstall the wifi drivers for you notebook.

I have it. It's fine for the purpose you're after, but doesn't play well with hotel systems if you try to use in on networks that require authentication.

Did a similar thing about three weeks ago - at my daughter's place in TX [she's also an aggie
]. They have Sprint DSL and I bought a Linksys 'b' wireless router to add on. The software that came on the CD did not work right. When I called the 800 number the CSR gave me a link for a file which worked. During my visit there I had no problem connecting with my laptop. But the Sprint DSL modem would occassionally drop the DSL connection. Simply power cycling it would get it back on most of the times.
