Is there a way to make your router pop up a home page just like a hotel?

I think this might work for you: http://www.instructables.com/id/URL-Redirect-Prank-using-dd-wrt/
It requires a linksys wrt router with the hacked firmware and open dns. Else, i think you will need a professional cisco router to do this. -
I don't think that's what mechrock is looking to do. I believe the OP is looking for an initial page to open automatically when someone first opens a browser, which isn't possible with residential routers, AFAIK.

Yeah, I am trying to even think of how to do this on a cisco router ...hmm

I thought it was because I was connected to a hotel and if I was right it was a linksys 54g router. And they had there log in redirector thing.

If you have multiple computers you can set a group policy with Windows Server. I cant think of any other way other than setting it manually.

Hotel internet systems are big business. I'm certain there's more to it than just a router. To the OP - I don't think you'll find any simple solution to your question (costly maybe, but certainly not simple).

set up DNS server at your house and all DNS requests go through it.
Use router to set default homepage for network.
