Hello there!
I need some help with this issue.
Two days ago, suddenly my Vaio couldn't detect any networks.
The computer finds and identifies the Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN card, but I can't install the PROSet Wireless software because this message pops during installation: "Can't open registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\classes\WLANImportFile\Defaulticon" and then it rolls back the installation process.
The WIRELESS CONNECTIONS SWITCH is ON and with the VAIO SMART NETWORK SOFTWARE, when I click in WLAN doesn't stays GREEN.
What can I do to surf wirelessly again??? I've also tryed to UNABLE/DISABLE in Device Manager and INSTALLING/UNINSTALLIN also.
Thanks in advance.

Go to the intel web site and run there driver detector. Download the current or a more current version of your pro wireless. Do not run it. First uninstall the intel pro wireless software that is on your laptop then install the one you downloaded.

Thanks for the reply, but the problem I have is that due to the problem with that registry key I mention in the first post it's imposible for me to install/uninstall the intel pro wireless. Any clues on how to avoid that registry key or how to delete it?
Thank you very much. -
If you can not restore the registry with a registry repair tool then find a system restore point previous to the problem and see if that helps. Could some malware or virus have slipped in and caused your problem.
