Hello,
Please excuse my ignorance with the topic as I am not greatly familiar with networking. I had a search around the forum and net and still unsure of my problem.
I have a PC with Vista SP1 and a wireless router (netgear). We have 2 Laptops with Vista which both have no problems connecting. I am however trying to connect my XP SP3 PC via a wireless dongle.
It has high reception and i don't think there is any interference. I thought it must be a problem with my XP Computer, but then i recently tried to connect via wireless on an XP Laptop and once again it can see the host, attempts to connect, connects, but instantly disconnects and repeats constantly.
Anyone got any ideas? Sorry for long post lol.
I can supply further information if that will help?

check the drivers for the wireless dongle.

Thanks for the fast reply.
That's what i thought must be the problem at first.
However I checked for updates but found none. And I did that with both XP Laptop and XP Computer. -
My brother's desktop had the same issue before with a Netgear wireless dongle (XP Home SP2), where it attempts to reconnect exactly every 5 seconds. In that case, I resolved it by re-entering the wireless security information and passkey.

Oh really?
That was all to fix it?
I disabled firewalls on either end and re entered the passcode, but still the same.
Thanks -
Try disabling the wireless security and connecting - if it still doesn't work, that eliminates security as the factor that is causing your problems.
