Vontage will use your bandwidth to route other phone calls through your service. I do not know if there is a setting to restrict bandwidth.
Also I worked on a friend of mines setup. The router will not open up a ftp port. At the time no firmware updates due to Vonage modified fw. So if you have a time trial basis, evaluate your options. -
Ftp port what/ hows it useful to me?
Currently my situation has worstend now the phone and internet will not work together. I did have this problem with it before but resolved it by adding a router. Then sometime this morning the phone stopped working and the computer(internet) was! Its still phone OR internet but not both....... -

I was indicating that Vonage/linksys modified firmware has bugs in it. If this is new you need to talk to your provider.
If nothing works you need to reset the router back to factory and run the setup again. If you have 2 routers the Vonage one need to be the one connected to the ISP. If not you need to open ports needed for it to receive incoming calls. You also need to find out how to restrict bandwidth to the Vonage. These VOIP services will route/use what ever bandwidth you have to route traffic (other voip) through, the reason for the slow connection. There is a way to restrict the traffic but I do not recall what the fix was. Once you restrict it it should not have that great of impact on your game playing, but you still may have lags depending on your uplink speed. Up link speed is what VOIP services like to rob from your service. Because most every one has a decent download connection. I had one friend that had a T1 connection, when he connected the VOIP phone his traffic maxed out the T1 connection. Soon as he removed it everything return to normal.
Sorry I can't give you the answer you are looking for, maybe someone else who has the same setup can help you.
