I recently completly wiped out a laptop. It had too many viruses so I decided to install a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro. That went well, but it wiped out the wireless network drivers and cannot get connected to the internet to get all the necessary updates. It is an offbrand computer using Intel internals like the Core Duo processor on a Mobile Intel 945PM chipset. I believe the internal wireless card is a MiniPCI 802.11a,b,g. What drivers do I need to download in order to get this laptop going again? I apprecitate your help!

Open up the notebook, and find serial/model number of the wireless card then google it.

Were you able to get the chipset drives and all of the others needed? Most cases the mfg has a download section for these files. My guess right now is that MS installed there drivers, which 90% of the time do not work. If Intel go to there web site.
If you go into the BIOS some time the ID will tell you who made the NB before it was re-labeled. -
I got the Intel info from running CPU-Z I transfered from another computer.
I got the wireless card information from the manufacter of the notebook ( http://www.tangent.com/products/datasheets/Shuttle9100.pdf).
I think if I get a driver, it will work. However, when I search on Intel support I get many wireless cards- http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-005905.htm
I'm unsure of which one I need. -
Your manufacturer should provide all of the necessary drivers for you laptop. You have to install system software and many drivers to get everything running again.

Didn't you get a drivers disc with the computer? It must be under the mess
